Computer problems??

Having some troubles with your pc? Slowdowns maybe? Read on.

Here are some of the obvious reasons that makes your computer drag a lot and basic troubleshooting you can do.

~ Virus/Trojans/Malware ~

What to do?

- Download an anti-virus that you trust and update it. Make a scan on your pc and delete the viruses that'll appear. I recommend using AVAST! and Spybot which are free for home use. You can download them at http://www.download.com.

Note: Some viruses are almost impossible to delete by such anti-virus softwares and formatting your system is sometimes the best option.

~ Registry overload ~

- After some years of using your computer, including installation of softwares, can slow down your system. This is because of registry overload. Every time you install, download softwares, it creates a registry for easier process the next time you open or reinstall a certain file. But too much of this can clog up your hard drive space and create traffic. Some of these registries can be safely deleted. I recommend using CCleaner. You can download it HERE or visit http://download.com and search "ccleaner".

Note: Make sure before you delete your registries, you're familiar with them and that you make backups of it. Ccleaner can also do that for you.

~ Too much start-up processes ~

- Okay, this might be a little bit to confusing. Just hang in there. Hehe

Whenever you turn on your computer, several softwares that are installed in your system automatically starts up and run in background for easy access. Maybe it's your firewall, printer, camera softwares, etc.. If you rarely use some of these, you can disable them and just open them manually when needed.

To do this: Click START, then click RUN. Type in "msconfig" (without quotations) and press enter. Click the tab "startup" on top and uncheck the things you don't want to run on start-up. Click OK then restart your pc.

Note: Before doing this, make sure that you are familiar with the installed softwares or have someone who is. Unchecking things randomly might harm your system.

Hi honey! I'm bored.. plans?

Bring that excitement back!

Admit it. You felt it at least once, right? That "we've done it all" feeling that makes you *sigh*. Wouldn't it be fun if you could just read his/her mind so you'll know what to do next? Don't you just wish you were like the old days, the courting, teasing , everything. That thrill that makes you jump from floor to ceiling. Having smiles that you just can't seem to erase. Lying in bed but you can't sleep, `cause you can't stop thinking about that special moment you just had. That first kiss you can't get over with. Rewind time? Sorry, you can't. But you can relive everything or do other stuff and give your relationship another boost.

When it comes to love, small thinking is the way to go.

~ Get wet ~

Have you tried jogging with him/her first thing in the morning? How about yoga? Hehe. Dancing. Yeah that's it. Oh, you can't dance? No problem. The point is to feel each other's heart. Just relax, close your eyes, and let the music take you guys away.

~ Meet for a midnight snack ~

Having some grub late at night can give a more romantic feeling than you canever imagine. It's like as if you're both free from everything. The cold breeze'll make you feel like hugging each other. Doing this also gives you a better good night's sleep.

~ Mini dates ~

This is always taken for granted. Most couples hang out longer than they should, and in the longrun, they tend to get bored. That's because, they feel that everything's been said and that things are getting repetitive. They ran out of things to say, or to do on their date. "Mini dates" are limited, say 15 or 30 minutes and then you part ways. Not only that it gives you a bit more limitation, it also gives you both a chance to feel "hanging" or "bitin". (I don't know the right translation for that, so sorry.)

~ Go see a fortune teller ~

I got this one from a magazine. I think it's a fun idea. But if one of you is a strong believer of such things, then maybe it's a bad idea. Ask things like, "what's `gonna happen after this and that, or will I be a rock star or something? "It's just something for you guys to laugh about. `Ya know, just for kicks. :D

~ Act like jerks ~
Here's an idea. Go get yourselves some fries or burger from McDonalds and eat it at Jollibee. Or drop some coins in some kiddie ride and just leave it. Or ask a security guard the time... 10 times. Hehe. Yeah, well I always wanted to that.

The older we get, the boring we become. The trick is to act like kids. Just don't get carried away too much though.

Have fun!

Love..

How far can you go?

This video shows a woman who suffers from a serious illness and has lost all hope. Her boyfriend tries to make her the happiest woman in anyway he can, even if it means he'll hurt himself in the long run.

Yes, it's a common story. But after I watched it -- well, during actually -- I did felt sad and a bit envious. The guy was so inlove that I.. o gosh.. I wish I could do that. :') Well anyway, I do hope that a lot of commercial industries make more of these type of ads. Not only that it gives a short entertainment, it does affect the lives of some.

To check out more of these videos, just log on to youtube and search "thai life insurance".  I don't know why it was named liked that and what it's relation to the video, but hey, still a fantastic job. Ciao.

How fast or how slow can you learn?

This topic I found at our local papers caught my eye. It's rather interesting to find out if our brain is a good knowledge absorber or something that gets wasted every time. Some people will find this easy to answer. Some would actually say that it's a choice. In my lifetime, I've seen two types of these learners. People who learn fast but forget fast, and people who learn slow but "gets it" quickly.

Whether it's academic, life wisdom, or something that heightens up your reflexes, it is your basis if you are a fast or a slow catcher. Here are some of the things I learned in my 20+ years:

1. At the end of the day, all that matters is self-respect. (Rocky movie)
2. A tomato is a fruit.
3. Unprepared events are the best parties around.
4. I.Q tests looks very easy, but you'll never get a perfect score.
5. You really can identify one's personality through music.
6. Paranoia hurts you even before the real thing happens.
7. Real friends don't just listen and understand your problems. They scold at you.
8. Negative thinkers really do end up poor, financially or emotionally.
9. Hugs are better than kisses. Anyone can fake a kiss.
10. It's not embarrassing to ask. (This is very important)

Well, that's that. Got something new lately?

Dreams

Okay, here's a sample of my weirdest dream ever.

"I was riding the train to a destination that I don't even know where. I got down to a stop that I thought I was familiar of, I thought it was a mall. The entrance was filled with ice that looked like snow from a cliff, as if it were made for skiing. As I ventured this humongous mall, I saw the longest escalator. Connecting the 1st floor up to the 7th. Then, I saw someone, I don' know who, but I got so scared and ran away from it and ended up at the beach! Woah, that was fast. And then I swam the ocean, and then..."

I could go on really. But it's quite long and it's fascanating that I remembered most of it. Well, that's because I've dreamt about it a couple of times, consecutively! For me, I considered that dream as some sort of premonition. That maybe someday, I'll get to own a mall of my own (without those weird things of course).

On the other hand, I find it really interesting that I can't help but tell this to my friends and wait for their opinions. They all thought it was rather funny, and for some, they told me that I've been watching too much tv. (it's true..)  So.. I told this story to some of the folks at home, most of them are quite old, and from where I grew up, people are superstitious and they do believe that dreams have meanings. I remember when I asked my grandmother for her opinion, she said "have you seen any numbers? `cause if you did, they could be the winning lottery numbers". Also, a woman from our neighborhood (yes, I admit. I kinda like gossiping with these kind of topics) told me that if there were people there that I knew, especially the person that I ran from, could be some enemy or something that I feared the most and that I should be on the look out for something suspicious. That's a laugh. Although it did made some sense, why in the world would I heighten up my Alert for something that I'm not certain of?

Anyway, based on my statistics (hehe), a lot of people do believe that when you dream about numbers, they could be the lottery winning numbers. I don't know where they got their "facts", but I think it's very irrational. Maybe because the pot money is getting higher everyday and these people are so desparate to have instant cash. My opinion? Get more sleep, less work, more fun. That's all you need. If you need more money, don't invest to something that gives you 0.0000001% ROI. Instead, invest it to something more profitable. Business perhaps? Or just save your bettings and put it to good use. Saving 20 bucks a day can give you 600 at the end of the month. Not bad. Ciao!

Waiting for the uncertain

I grew up like everybody else. Simple, nothing that special.
Everyday I wake up and get to kiss good morning
the people that took care of me even
before I knew how to spell my first name.
People who I believed to be my real parents.

They’re my grandparents. I called them Mom and Dad.
My real mom said she needed some time, maybe to find
her inner self, and with confidence, left me to stay with her parents.
I never complained about her decision because I know, I’m in good hands.
My uncle, who also lived with us, took the job of being my brother.
He also took part in shaping my personality as I grew older which I am proud of.
As a child, having an uncle for a brother was quite rewarding.
My life was complete.

Living in a family who earned the respect of many, forced me to be sociable
and gave me the chance to know a lot of different people
of different ages. Having introduced as their grandson,
made me feel a bit embarrassed.
Although I have a lot to be proud of, not having your real
parents beside you, made me feel envious of other kids.
Nonetheless, I’m very much happy and satisfied.

My mom came back. I’m glad she did. But now,
she has a new husband. It was rather awkward being
with someone new who is willing to accept me to be his own son.
By God’s grace, I learned to accept him as well.
He has three children with my mom, and I’m very happy to have siblings to love and lead.
Thanks to him, I now have a family. A complete one.

As time pass and my mind matures, questions about my biological father
was beginning to surface. I asked my mom and my grandparents
about the truth. Why did he leave? Will he come back?
They could not answer the latter. Instead, they convinced me
that I should just take advantage that I still have them and concentrate
on my studies and someday, be proud that I made
it through life without a father.
There were no space for arguments. It was suffer or move on.

I continued my life as I struggle to get out of high school.
Thinking that things will be much better as soon as I finish my studies.
I’ve set goals, doing each step necessary to accomplish my dreams.
Get a degree, move on to business and live the life I’ve always wanted.
Being wealthy was in fact, the center of my inspiration.
I’ve always known that being financially secured was a big source of happiness.
Until one day,
I received an instant message on my social network account
that made me think otherwise.

It was a man who carries the same name like I do.
He asked me about my parents, and ended his message with a hint,
“we could be close relatives”.
I was stunned. I couldn’t breathe.
I saw his picture, and I was dead certain that he is my father.
After twenty long years, this is the first time that I’m having a conversation with my real father.

Other than excitement, I also felt anger. I wanted to ask him tons of questions. Hard questions that only starts with “what” and “why”. It took me sometime to think things over. I pictured possible scenes that might happen depending on various decisions. But clearly, I did felt some sort of relief. Because right now, my biological father’s just an e-mail away.
Considering that, I hope things will be okay and it will only bring out something for me to be happy about.
